A four-part series to help you tap into the power of your emotions as a source of energy, instincts, and intelligence.

All of your emotions are essential to your well-being and each brings you a specific kind of intelligence to guide your thoughts and actions. You can learn to work brilliantly with every one of your emotions.

There are no negative emotions. There are no positive emotions. There is only more skill or less skill in working with each of the emotions. To become more skilled in action is to practice yoga.

This series will help you develop emotional awareness, self-knowledge, relationship skills, healthy empathy, and self-care practices.

Each session will focus on one of the four general emotion families. You will learn the specific gifts, messages, and practices for each emotion in that family and how they support you in better understanding and responding to the world within you and the world around you.

  • Each course includes a 90-minute webinar, with slides, handouts, and written exercises.

  • All handouts are also downloadable.

  • Each course also includes a recorded gentle Movement Mindset practice, 60-75 minutes, focusing on the emotions of that session.

  • You can do the whole series or individual courses.

  • Courses have no time limit, so they are always available.

The Anger Family

Learn the vital gifts of the emotions of anger, apathy, shame, and hatred; how to recognize their different intensities; and how to skillfully channel your power to protect what you value and create space for yourself and others.

You will also find a Movement Mindset class here, a gentle yoga/movement session exploring how the flowing states of the anger family help in our practice with boundaries, rules, and behaviors.

The Fear Family

Learn the vital gifts of the emotions of fear, anxiety, confusion, jealousy, envy, and panic; how to recognize their different intensities; and how to skillfully channel your power to be present, aware, and focused.

Also included is a Movement Mindset class based on the theme of Instincts, Intuition, and Orienting. In this gentle yoga/movement class, we look at the breath, interoception, and the emotions, and some interesting research on body awareness and the fear family.

The Sadness Family

Learn the vital gifts of the emotions of sadness, grief, depression, and the suicidal urge; how to recognize their different intensities; and how to skillfully channel your power to release what isn't working, mourn what's gone, relax and rejuvenate yourself.

Also included is a Movement Mindset class based on the theme of Stopping, Letting Go, and Recovering. In this gentle yoga/movement class, we look at relaxation practices and renegotiating contracts, using the soft and flowing state of sadness to help us let go of what is no longer working or serving us and making way for what does.

The Happiness Family

Learn the vital gifts of the emotions of happiness, contentment, and joy; how to recognize their different intensities; and how to skillfully channel your power to celebrate, commune and connect to something bigger.

Also included is a Movement Mindset class based on the theme of Hope, Confidence, and Inspiration. In this gentle yoga/movement class, we look at "full-bodied wholeness" and practices that invite the soft flow of rejuvenating joy.
